Most of us think of paradigms as passive, inanimate collections of ideas and perspectives. We think of them as something that we can work on, craft, but not something that could work on us … or on anything else.

But the truth is something quite different. We can indeed work on them, refine and develop them. But, whether we are conscious of it or not, they are non-stop, simultaneously, spontaneously working on us. They are working on our bodies, our minds and our environment. How can that be? Let me explain.

Once they are created/planted they virtually take on a life of their own. They may begin as an idea or a vision or a reasoned analysis but, they do not stay in that state indefinitely. These raw beginnings are subjected to a very specific process of digestion by our Hearts & Minds, eventually distilling down to their essence – transformed into seeds in the process. Like all seeds they seek fertile ground to sprout anew the human mind/culture being first choice. As they grow and mature, they change, they develop different levels and dimensions, perform unique activities and develop some very specific impacts both material and ethereal.

A tiny tomato seed turns into a vine full of tomatoes resembling the seed not at all. And not just because it is larger but also because it becomes capable of a wide range of effects the seed cannot. The tomato can nourish people, travel the world participating in gastronomical adventures, spark creativity in culinary efforts, become a reference in both fact and symbolism, nourish our worldly senses with beauty, taste, and fragrance and continue even unto death becoming food for renewing soil. And all the while the seed is being re-created ready to begin the entire cycle all over again.

Paradigms are the same. Once they find fertile ground and are planted in the Hearts & Minds of a person/culture, they come to life and go through a very specific growth/development cycle. In maturity, they become fully animate, four dimensional and deeply impactful life forms – while simultaneously recreating themselves, ready to perpetually sprout anew.
